Veterans Day Disc 2

With such a stellar beginning, how could I just end a disc like that?

How wrong of me I know, but then again, I’ve got the cure

DISC 2 is here with more of the madness!

Yeah more DJ Funk

More Sneak

and for this one…

BON JOVI!

I know, I lost my mind.

ENJOY!

Veterans Day 2011 Disc 1

Unfortunately, with the recent demise of the HCBD series of mixes

(R.I.P.)

and with the special day being 11-11-11

I had been mulling over this idea for quite some time.

I figured, why not make something a bit more fun than usual.

I wasn’t originally planning on making it for Veterans.

It doesn’t have much of a military theme to it either.

It’s just that it’s an unbridled let your hair down good time!

First off, this is the new mix as a result of the massive technology infusion of October.

The new lappy, new OS’es, and lots of other goodies have been tossed in.

With that, there has also been the massive procurement of music,

and a getting in touch with some old friends with some old goodies.

Where do I begin? I don’t know where I get these ideas, but for example…

who in a minimal mix throws in Nirvana?

ME

Jodeci? Wait wait, did I really type that…

YUP I dug up Jodeci!

CZR?

Me

Toss in some Danny Teneglia, Rosabel, Boris Rush,

This one is way to crazy to describe, and being spatially mixed for 5.1 enjoyment

Let’s say this one is audacious.  I hope you like it!

Oldies yes OOOH soo goodies!!!

It’s been a wild and adventurous

month of September folks let me tell ya!

After a few system upgrades

and a few equipment failures,

BSOD’s, hard drive crashes,

and re-installation of Windows 7…

count it…..

7 times (who knew THAT’S what the 7 was for),

this latest beat foray is a continuation

of the Escaped From Da Basement series.

I figured I hadn’t updated it in a while and it was due for a new mix.

Besides, I had a few dusties

and well a few really good revisits

to some good old classics.

I’m a sucker for a good bootleg

and if it’s worthy of some good play,

I’m not beneath playing it!

Besides, these tracks only belong in a basement mix,

I mean we got Michael Jackson,

not only once but TWICE!!!

I got Newcleus, yeah, you read it right…Jam On It…

Toss in some Prince, Some Ralphi Rosario, A dash of Razor and Guido, and shake in some RuPaul for extra spice, spin at 132.6 bpm, and well…

This is what you got…take a listen!

420 Bars of Bass??…YES!!…REALLY!

It’s amazing what a few long overdue

yet oh so timely upgrades can do.

Now that DJ Nave E’s productions

are now being handled by the

Zepplin Flyer (M. T. C.)

you can expect higher quality mixes

and finally the arrival of

ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS

And that brings us to this little ditty.

After having a beat in my head for a few weeks,

I figured when better to try and bang it out than now?

There are 3 versions of it actually,

there is the Original Mix which clocks in at sensual 125bpm and 14 mins.

there is the club mix which is a modest 132 bpm and is 13 mins

But who am I? What am I known for? Insanely fast yet groovy beats…

SOOO

I bring to you the Jagged Up Mix!

Clocking in at 12 minutes and 10 seconds

at a whirlwind 138 bpm

I’ve got a hit out on your subs!

Can they keep up?

…line…SINKER!

That’s right, after a slow sensual progression “To The EDGE” of disc 1,

with the increased frenetic bass pulsing and pushing you “Over The EDGE” with disc 2,

it’s time to go for broke.

Go all out!

Balls out…

Balls to the walls, and this is where you’ve landed.

Smack dab in the middle of an acid house techno infused aural mele.

Speakerbox, Tick – Tock, just to name a few, I’m sure if you like it hard, unrelenting and deep…

“…To The WALLS!” is definitely for you.

Kicking the BPM meter up a notch or three,

this one is definitely for you.

Especially if you want it to pound

and HARD!

Thank me later.

Dirty Mouth? Meet Dirty Beats….

Hungry for something a bit gritty, and edgy,

and just in time for the Wednesday

Hump Bump

I decided to dip my hands in some dirty electronic nuggets

Taking a chunk outta the “Fly Life”,

along with some introspection to reveal “God In Me”

I’ve come up with a nice selection of

hard driving excess.

You might wanna take a shower afterwards

W.O.P.A.W. A Tribute…

I’ve always had this affinity for good soul stirring Baptist Church rhythms, and how it’s had the ability to stir up the soul.

As a DJ, of course you want to be able to tap into that power, and also be able to celebrate that energy and passion.

I’ve had a favorite vocalist for many decades, Vernessa Mitchell, and she’s a member and affiliated Psalmist to my church. I’ve grown up watching her and her pipes bring people to emotional bliss with her vocal prowess.

Upon hearing that she would be back in town, and performing at a local church, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to have my ears blessed by her powerful gift.

I struggled with this notion for weeks, and nothing came of it, until BAM, it all fell in place today.

Original concept was supposed to be only her music, but that wasn’t a large enough body of work for me, and I’d be remiss in not including newer compositions from other artists as well.

Honestly, this style of music has been written off by most as heathen’s music, druggie dope den stuff to trip on and commit all sorts of sins to.  While that might be true to an extent, it doesn’t have to be that way, and I’m glad that these women have found a way to transcend that, and also without being preachy or dogmatic, find a way how to bring the gospel, and a message of love acceptance into such arenas, and gain such acceptance as they have.

So I enlisted the help of Tamara Wallace and Oscar G., Funky Green Dogs, Mary Mary to allow this to be a big barn burning piece of revival.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did

Yours in Groove…

Origins of the Diva Series Pt 1

What would the dance world be without Divas?

They make the songs we love to hear  and sing along with.

All the while doing it in such style, grace, and vocal prowess.

Making sure to leave their mark not only on our ears and hearts,

but also on the charts and dancefloors worldwide.

With those thoughts, and Palm Sunday approaching,

This newest series of mixes was born.

More affectionately entitled Divas,

the first round in this series was called

“Divas Beaten By Palms”

Originally a continuous mix, I decided to split it into

two full length CD sets for easier burning, downloading et al.

The cover speaks for itself, and is just a sampling of some of the greats

whose beats I work into a frenzy.

Everyone from Kylie,

Cher,

Janet,

Rihanna,

and even the quintessential diva herself…

Annie Lennox!

Of course, is that all the ones you can expect to hear?

I wouldn’t be DJ Nave E if it was.

Get ready, cause it’s time for some Palm Action…

with a little help from DJ Aulden Brown down in Miami

your version is the only Born This Way that I play…
