420 Bars of Bass??…YES!!…REALLY!

It’s amazing what a few long overdue

yet oh so timely upgrades can do.

Now that DJ Nave E’s productions

are now being handled by the

Zepplin Flyer (M. T. C.)

you can expect higher quality mixes

and finally the arrival of

ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS

And that brings us to this little ditty.

After having a beat in my head for a few weeks,

I figured when better to try and bang it out than now?

There are 3 versions of it actually,

there is the Original Mix which clocks in at sensual 125bpm and 14 mins.

there is the club mix which is a modest 132 bpm and is 13 mins

But who am I? What am I known for? Insanely fast yet groovy beats…

SOOO

I bring to you the Jagged Up Mix!

Clocking in at 12 minutes and 10 seconds

at a whirlwind 138 bpm

I’ve got a hit out on your subs!

Can they keep up?

…line…SINKER!

That’s right, after a slow sensual progression “To The EDGE” of disc 1,

with the increased frenetic bass pulsing and pushing you “Over The EDGE” with disc 2,

it’s time to go for broke.

Go all out!

Balls out…

Balls to the walls, and this is where you’ve landed.

Smack dab in the middle of an acid house techno infused aural mele.

Speakerbox, Tick – Tock, just to name a few, I’m sure if you like it hard, unrelenting and deep…

“…To The WALLS!” is definitely for you.

Kicking the BPM meter up a notch or three,

this one is definitely for you.

Especially if you want it to pound

and HARD!

Thank me later.

Hooked yet? Time to go Over the EDGE

With the melodic yet upbeat beginnings of  “To The Edge” getting you all primed and ready,

“Over The EDGE” takes you one step further down the  spiral.

Notching the BPM’s up just a tad to a clubland standard of 132

and getting it more minimalistic beats and melodies

this disc has a slightly “EDGIER” groove to it.

A little bit harder, tad bit deeper, and more grit ensures that whatever your pleasure, this is definitely a step in the right direction.

As promised this isn’t the end, but only preps you for the splash down ending of “…to the wall” and it’s frenetic 136 BPM

This disc also incorporates more subtle production work and re-working of a few tracks to achieve the sonic experience I’ve been looking to achieve.

I’d like to name tracks, but honestly, there are very few you would recognize title wise, so I won’t tease you with things you might not be able to find except for in this very mix.

So without further pomp and circumstance, let’s continue our aural journey and pick up where we left off.

Hopefully you can hang on till the end, there’s a big surprise waiting for ya.

Till next installment

Are you ready to get hooked? Will you take the bait?

Concepts are what I do, if you haven’t noticed yet.  It’s one of the things that makes a DJ Nave E mix different than your average DJ mix.

This time however, I totally think I have outdone myself.  This is a multi-level concept, where not only the cover art, but the actual mixes themselves convey and personify the concept and help propel it into your ear drums.

This being the first of the a 3 cd set, this time, I’m going to “bait” you along.  Normally, I tend to drop a 3 cd set at the same time, and let you catch up.

This time is different, cause, well, each disc needs PROPER  BREATHING room.

There is even an alternate version of these mixes that are available on a private request basis, as the “cherry” on top has been omitted from these released versions.

Normally I give you a slight idea of who is in the mix, this time, I almost can’t and won’t even attempt to try.

Know this, it’s different than what you’ve come to expect from DJ Nave E, and loyalists will tell you, they haven’t heard this sound since about 2001.

Fret not, ya boy still got it, and now with “to the EDGE” you do as well.

Each mix is just over an hour long, a slight departure from my normal 78 minute routine.

The “hook” is that this is a progress mix set, not the progressive genre, however but progressive in terms of BPM.

You start out on disc one at 128 bpm with deep house and regular house.

Disc two “Over The EDGE” migrates you towards 132 bpm and into progressive tech-house tribal tech minimal house.

Disc three “…to the wall” checks in at 136 bpm and drop kicks you into techno, prog tech, minimal tech and other harder aggressive stylings.

This one will take you right to the EDGE, but doesn’t quite take you all the way there…

That’s what “Over The Edge” is for, and stay tuned, I’ll post that later.  ;-D

Until then beat-a-holics and fellow beat junkes.

Yours in Groove!

Dirty Mouth? Meet Dirty Beats….

Hungry for something a bit gritty, and edgy,

and just in time for the Wednesday

Hump Bump

I decided to dip my hands in some dirty electronic nuggets

Taking a chunk outta the “Fly Life”,

along with some introspection to reveal “God In Me”

I’ve come up with a nice selection of

hard driving excess.

You might wanna take a shower afterwards

W.O.P.A.W. A Tribute…

I’ve always had this affinity for good soul stirring Baptist Church rhythms, and how it’s had the ability to stir up the soul.

As a DJ, of course you want to be able to tap into that power, and also be able to celebrate that energy and passion.

I’ve had a favorite vocalist for many decades, Vernessa Mitchell, and she’s a member and affiliated Psalmist to my church. I’ve grown up watching her and her pipes bring people to emotional bliss with her vocal prowess.

Upon hearing that she would be back in town, and performing at a local church, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to have my ears blessed by her powerful gift.

I struggled with this notion for weeks, and nothing came of it, until BAM, it all fell in place today.

Original concept was supposed to be only her music, but that wasn’t a large enough body of work for me, and I’d be remiss in not including newer compositions from other artists as well.

Honestly, this style of music has been written off by most as heathen’s music, druggie dope den stuff to trip on and commit all sorts of sins to.  While that might be true to an extent, it doesn’t have to be that way, and I’m glad that these women have found a way to transcend that, and also without being preachy or dogmatic, find a way how to bring the gospel, and a message of love acceptance into such arenas, and gain such acceptance as they have.

So I enlisted the help of Tamara Wallace and Oscar G., Funky Green Dogs, Mary Mary to allow this to be a big barn burning piece of revival.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did

Affiliating we will go…

During the course of my constant obsession with technology,

of course the incessant love affair with music

and the endless hours spent on the internet,

it only seems right that I take time to recognize and acknowledge

the companies and services that help me do what I do.

Each one has in some way shaped and molded my craft

and has contributed to the mixes you hear here.

Now what thank you would be complete without a

Mrs. Jackson-style

“What Have You Done For Me….Lately??”

LOL

Well, with that said, I’m sure that people will be asking as time goes on

what equipment do I use, have experience on, and where do I get it all?

That’s where the affiliating comes in to play…(ha ha naysayers…there IS a tie in)

Upon my webcrawling I found out that yes, when you visit my site,

or if you decide you want to acquire any DJ related tools,

software, or equipment yours truly can receive

nominal compensation for your purchasing consideration.

This will greatly help to off set the cost of production, procurement, and publishing.

Watch this space for future developments and links in the coming weeks for the affiliate links.

In the meantime, lets do some product placement shall we?

And no, this is by no means a complete or exhaustive list, but this will keep you busy for now…
